Hangover Heaven

Happen to see this news story and had to post it up here!

Hangover Heaven is a new service being offered in Las Vegas and those boys from the film ‘The Hangover’ would probably have appreciated this a whole lot!

What is it?  It’s a mobile medical service staffed by a team of 25 doctors and nurses and was started by Las Vegas anaethetist, Jason Burke.  They can pick you up from your hotel and treat your hangover on the bus or take you to one of their nearby clinics and if you can’t make it out of your bed they’ll provide a VIP service where they provide the service in your hotel room.  Jason says that it has become so popular with British tourists that they are in talks to bring the service to the UK.

Here is their price list and you can read the full article here

  • One litre of hydration fluid
  • Vitamins and antioxidants

REDEMPTION 2.0 – £77

Everything above plus:

  • Your choice of nausea medicine or headache medicine
  •  Glutathione

  • One and a half litres of hydration
  • Nausea Medicine
  • Headache Medicine
  • Vitamins and Antioxidants
  • Anti-heartburn medicine
  • Antioxidant and vitamin pills to go

  • One and a half to two litres of hydration
  • Nausea Medicine
  • Headache Medicine
  • Vitamins and Antioxidants
  • Anti-heartburn medicine
  • 30 minutes of oxygen
  • Super B shot (similar to a B12 shot, but five times better)
  • Potent mix of Amino Acids to combat inflammation and fatigue
  • Antioxidant and vitamin pills to go

So a hangover cure that will cost you more than it cost you to drink yourself into the state requiring their services in the first place!  And more importantly, that innocent glass of social lubricant has this kind of impact that requires an extraordinary and expensive level of intervention to put your body straight again afterwards.

Just imagine what you could spend the money you spent drinking, and recovering from drinking, on instead?  Hell, that £142 would buy me a really nice spa day locally with massage, facial and 3 course meal included, and still have change for a bit of retail therapy!  What would you splurge this on instead?

  1. So what is “hydration fluid” I wonder? Is that just water? Very special lovely water for that price! I wonder if they’d come round for someone headachy and snotty and full of cold? I fancy being looked after, and I do like the look of that bus 😉

    1. That’ll be 5% Dextrose Solution probably with Pabrinex added. Translation to non medical jargon: a solution containing sugars, salts and electrolytes to rebalance cell osmosis. Pabrinex is intravenous multi-vitamins, which is why it has that lovely yellow colour in their photo’s from the Vitamin C. That’s what we used to treat all of our alcoholics with when initially admitted.

The bus better be nice looking for the price and I’m sure they’ll run to fixing colds, or ‘wine flu’ to fit their criteria! 😉 xx

  2. I needed this care is Las Vegas more times than once! I kept telling the maid I couldn’t get out of bed. I refused cleaning services that day!!

    1. Never been to Vegas, but hit the casinos around Lake Tahoe, and if that is anything to go by I probably would have done too back in my drinking days! Not any more though 🙂 How you doing? Still going strong? xx

  3. God this is hilarious!! Is this how it is – we really need this service?? Thank God we are off that boogie bus!!! Fools and their money………

    1. It is isn’t it? Nothing to see here, move along now – no problem with booze in this country …..

  4. I am going STRONG! Day 3! (technically 5, since Monday and Tuesday are always dry for me) I never thought I’d make it this far…now for the weekend. Wish me luck!

    1. Go you!! 🙂 If you’ve done 5 days you can do 7 – no probs. Wishing you luck and let me know how you go xx

  5. That is RIDICULOUS, but I would have loved the idea when I was drinking. You are absolutely right- what a waste! Of time, resource, money, doctors! Thanks for sharing! I like the new blog look, too. 🙂

    1. Ridiculous indeed – but cushtie job for the medics! Thanks for liking the new look 🙂 xx

  6. I would have paid big money back in the day for someone to come fix the bad hangovers. Of course, another few drinks works too. Better yet, not drinking in the first place works best of all for some of us, with the unforeseen side effect that everything else gets better too. Very interesting find…thanks for sharing the details.

    1. Me too and like you say the simplest answer is just not to drink 🙂
